Jerry Russell Cole, 74, of Covington, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 24, 2025. Born in Swanton, Ohio, to the late Russell Cole and Irene Cole, Jerry leaves behind his loving wife Emily Cole, children Russell "Rusty" Cole and Sara Cole, granddaughters Alexia Davis and Ava Palmer, sister Gloria McQuade, nieces, nephews, their children, ex-spouse Patricia Cole-Seifried, and loyal companion Cade.

An unwavering outdoorsman, Jerry found solace and joy in nature throughout the seasons. A skilled skier, he cherished his time at Perfect North after retirement. With a deep appreciation for the National Park Services, Jerry took his grandchildren on camping trips, sharing his passion for exploring the great outdoors with family and friends.

Jerry and Emily shared nearly three decades of marriage, filled with travels, golf, skiing, hiking, and quality time with their granddaughters, family, and friends. Their shared interests and hobbies bound them closely, despite their allegiances to rival colleges. Jerry, an Ohio State University Buckeye alumnus, and Emily, a University of Michigan graduate, enjoyed a loving partnership.

During his career as the Manufacturing Manager at EMD Chemicals, Jerry's genuine nature and willingness to help others made him a cherished friend to many. While excelling as a husband and father, his role as "Papa" to his granddaughters was the role he treasured most. Jerry's presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In accordance with Jerry's wishes, no services will be held. A celebration of his life will be announced and held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Park Service or the American Civil Liberties Union.

To honor Jerry's memory, memorial trees or flowers can be ordered for the family through the dedicated flower store.
