NFIB State Director Tom Underwood has called on the General Assembly to carefully consider how new legislation might impact small businesses in Kentucky. "Small business is the cornerstone of Kentucky’s economy," Underwood stated, emphasizing the importance of evaluating each piece of legislation for its potential effects on Main Street.

The latest NFIB Small Business Optimism Index indicates that small business owners across the nation are feeling more positive about the economic outlook. Despite this optimism, they continue to grapple with challenges such as rising costs and a shortage of qualified workers.

"Legislators need to recognize the challenges our small business members are facing and pass laws that help them grow and create jobs," Underwood urged. He also expressed a willingness to collaborate with Governor Beshear and legislative leaders on policies designed to empower Kentucky's entrepreneurs.
