Tommy W. Adams, 92, of Independence, Remembered for Faith and Love for Fishing

Tommy W. Adams, fondly known as "Tackle Tom," passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024, in Independence, Kentucky, at the age of 92. Born in Whitesburg, Kentucky, on May 16, 1932, to Bill and Martha Adams (nee Reynolds), Tommy led a life filled with deep passions centered around faith and fishing.

A dedicated fisherman and lover of the outdoors, Tommy enjoyed fixing and reselling tackle and fishing supplies. He found joy in sharing card games with friends and family. As an ordained minister, he was committed to his faith and engaged in meaningful discussions about biblical teachings at the West Chester Old Regular Baptist Church.

Tommy was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Mae Adams, parents Bill and Martha Adams, daughter Patricia Ann Ashcraft, son Johnny Ray Adams, sisters Juanita Everidge and Ruth Sexton, and brothers Jack, John, and Billy Adams.

He is survived by his daughter Ramona Faulkner, sister Jesse Watts, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous other family members and friends who will miss him deeply.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Receptions, and Funerals in Erlanger, KY. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm, with burial at Union Rice Cemetery.

Friends and family are invited to share memories and messages for Tommy's family in the guestbook. Tommy's legacy of faith and love for fishing will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. Sympathy gestures and memorial flowers can be arranged through the funeral home's flower store.
