FRANKFORT, Ky. – Attorney General Daniel Cameron today defended free speech and opposed corporate censorship of a well-known victim of radical gender ideology.

In a letter to Eventbrite General Counsel Julia Taylor, a coalition of 19 attorneys general knocked the San Francisco-based event management and ticketing website for deplatforming an event featuring Chloe Cole.

Cole, a California resident, believed she was transgender and began receiving puberty blockers at 13 and cross-sex hormones not long after. At 15, she underwent a double mastectomy. By age 16, she overcame her gender dysphoria, but was left with the permanent effects of prior treatments.

She now seeks to prevent future tragedies by warning others about the dangers of so-called “gender transition procedures.” But according to Eventbrite, Chloe’s personal story “violates [its] policy on ‘Hateful, Dangerous, or Violent Content and Events.’”

“Eventbrite appears to disagree with Chloe’s position in [the gender] debate,” the attorneys general write. “But rather than respectfully disagree, Eventbrite appears to have deplatformed . . . Chloe and her concerns about pediatric gender transition.”

The attorneys general conclude by demanding that Eventbrite stop silencing political dissidents and adopt event-screening policies that are unbiased and respectful of free speech.

“It’s no surprise that San Francisco radicals would censor stories like Chloe’s,” said Attorney General Cameron. “We cannot allow corporate censorship to indoctrinate our kids with one-sided views on an issue as serious and life-changing as gender mutilation procedures.”
