FRANKFORT, Ky. – Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman announced today that she will continue her leadership role as an At-Large Member of the National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) Executive Committee.

NLGA is the professional association supporting lieutenant governors and seconds-in-command in all 50 states and the U.S. territories. The mission of NLGA is to assist these leaders, and the states and territories themselves, to be as effective and efficient as possible for constituents.

“NLGA thrives under leaders that are willing to participate, share and learn with their peer seconds-in-command from across the country,” said NLGA Director Julia Brossart. “Her peers find Lt. Gov. Coleman to be an engaged leader willing to share ideas from education to rural economic development.”

“I am thrilled to be selected again for a leadership role within the National Lieutenant Governors Association,” said Lt. Gov. Coleman. “The nonpartisan NLGA connects me with my peers from across the nation, allowing us to learn from one another on how to best serve our constituents.”

Lt. Gov. Coleman was nominated and approved by NLGA membership. She first joined the NLGA Executive Committee in 2020.

The committee meets approximately three times a year and is responsible for charting a course of issues and experiences to be available to the nation’s second-highest state officeholders. In addition to its specific duties, the committee will address issues of mutual concern to all states and territories.

Lt. Gov. Coleman was elected to office in 2019, and her accomplishments include helping secure more than $40 million in funding for school-based mental health services, eliminating the testing fee for GED-seekers and creating the first statewide urban search-and-rescue program.
