The University of Kentucky Student-Athlete Advisory Committee announced on April 29 its officers for the 2026–27 academic year. Brooklyn DeLeye from the volleyball team has been named president, while Karlie Campbell from women’s golf will serve as vice president.
SAAC represents all varsity student-athletes at the University of Kentucky. The committee works to improve communication between student-athletes and the athletics department, supports community outreach, and encourages leadership development among athletes.
As president, DeLeye will lead SAAC meetings and act as the main contact between student-athletes, athletics administration, and campus leadership. According to the announcement, “A key contributor for the Southeastern Conference Champion Kentucky volleyball program, DeLeye brings a strong commitment to leadership, service and student-athlete advocacy.”
Campbell will assist with SAAC initiatives in her role as vice president and help support representatives from all varsity sports. The university said that Campbell “has been actively involved in student-athlete leadership and engagement efforts within the department.” Each varsity program at Kentucky is represented on SAAC by at least one athlete.
SAAC receives support from UK Athletics’ Student-Athlete Experience division.
