Two EKU women’s golf players named to Academic All-ASUN Team

Eastern Kentucky University women’s golf team members Lanie Campbell and Elizabeth Tucci were named to the Academic All-Atlantic Sun Conference Team, according to an April 22 announcement from the league’s headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida.

The recognition highlights the academic and athletic achievements of both student-athletes during the season. Selection to the Academic All-ASUN Team is based on academic performance as well as contributions on the golf course.

Campbell, a senior from Ethridge, Tennessee, majors in marketing and maintains a 3.7 grade-point average. She led her team with a stroke average of 77.03 this season. Her best performance came at the Redbird Invitational, where she tied for fifth place out of 92 golfers with a total score of 220. Campbell also finished tied for seventeenth at the Colonel Classic.

Tucci is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration and holds a perfect 4.0 GPA after earning her undergraduate degree in finance with a GPA of 3.81. The senior from New Market, Maryland participated in six events this season and posted an average score of 79.13 per round, ranking fifth on her team for stroke average. Tucci tied for thirtieth at the Colonel Classic and thirty-fourth at the Redbird Invitational.

The selection of Campbell and Tucci reflects their dedication both academically and athletically throughout their collegiate careers.
