The Christ Hospital Health Network and Fifth Third Bank announced on May 3 that newborns delivered at their Mt. Auburn and Liberty Birthing Centers on Fifth Third Day would receive special gifts, including a limited-edition onesie and a $1,053 contribution toward the child’s 529 college savings plan.

This initiative aims to support families as they welcome new members and begin planning for their children’s future education. Debbie Hayes, President & CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network, said, “We are excited to be partnering with Fifth Third Bank to make a special day even more exciting for families of newborns this weekend. These college savings plans are an incredible gift to newborns and their families as they begin to plan for their future.”

In addition to the financial contribution, each family receives a care package with baby essentials. Labor and delivery care team members also receive items from Fifth Third Bank. The program is not limited to Cincinnati; it also takes place in hospitals in Chicago, Detroit, Nashville, and Orlando. Across its national footprint, Fifth Third employees will participate in volunteerism and giving activities throughout May.

Dan Feldmann, President of Fifth Third (Greater Cincinnati), said, “Fifth Third Day – May 3 – is a day we celebrate across the nation by showing up for our communities in meaningful ways. Supporting Cincinnati-area families on one of the most important days of their lives is a small but powerful way we can help invest in a brighter future for the next generation.” Since its start in 2017 through partnership with Gift of College Inc., nearly $733,000 has been distributed via this program.

The Christ Hospital Health Network upholds values such as excellence, compassion, integrity, inclusion, and stewardship in patient care according to the official website. Its main campus is located in Mount Auburn along with outpatient centers across the region according to the official website. The network has earned top national rankings for cardiology outcomes according to the official website and seeks community health improvement through compassionate care and clinical advancements according to the official website. It serves Greater Cincinnati through these facilities according to the official website while engaging partnerships that integrate advanced technology into diagnostics and treatments according to the official website.

As community service continues throughout May via employee volunteerism at Fifth Third Bank locations nationwide, both organizations say they look forward to further supporting local families during significant life moments.
