Donald L. Day, 90, of Independence, known for his unwavering dedication to family and passion for sports, peacefully passed away on March 2, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on January 10, 1935, in Cincinnati, Donald lived a life filled with warmth, love, and connection.

He is survived by his loving children: James Day (Shannon), Todd Day, Jeff Day, and Lisa Townsend, 12 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. Their hearts brim with memories of him, finding solace in the moments they shared.

Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Lura Day, parents Herman Day and Eva Wilde Day, as well as several siblings, Donald's spirit is embraced by those who welcomed him into eternal rest.

A devoted supporter of the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, Donald's love for sports brought him joy, alongside his passion for hobbies such as bowling and tending to his garden. His family invites all who knew him to honor and celebrate his life during a memorial gathering at Floral Hills Funeral Home in Covington, Kentucky. The event will take place on March 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Donald L. Day's gentle nature, strong family values, and zest for life will be dearly missed but forever cherished by those fortunate enough to have known him. Friends and family can order memorial trees or send flowers to honor Donald through the flower store.
