Census Bureau: More women than men in Kentucky in 2021

Of the 4,494,141 people living in Kentucky in 2021, 50.5% (2,270,358) were women and 49.5% (2,223,783) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by Bluegrass Times.

Data showed the average age for women in Kentucky in 2021 was on par with the national average of 40 for women. Meanwhile, Kentucky's male population stands at an average age of 38 years, placing them on par with the US average of 38.

According to census data, despite women being more prevalent in Kentucky during 2021, men aged 18 and over outnumbered women in the same age group by 3,341, totaling 1,370,361 individuals. Meanwhile, in the 65 and over group, there were 328,731 men and 406,120 women.
