WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced today that the Fletcher Group will receive $3,333,333 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP). The federal funding will support the Fletcher Group Rural Center of Excellence, which works to prevent and treat substance use disorders in rural communities across Kentucky.
“Overdose deaths in Kentucky are still nearly double what they were just five years ago, and with fentanyl flooding across our southern border, the problem is far from over,” said Senator McConnell. “Through organizations like the Fletcher Group, Kentuckians are coming together to combat this tragedy and assist rural communities hit hardest by this crisis. I’ve been proud to support the RCORP program in the Senate, and I’m pleased to see its federal resources go toward organizations making a difference in the Commonwealth. With the help of the Fletcher Group’s targeted prevention, treatment, and enforcement programs, Kentucky’s rural communities can take a stand against addiction and save lives.”
