Murray State freshman Reagan Towns was named the Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Week on April 28, according to an announcement from the league office in St. Louis, Missouri.

This recognition highlights Towns’s performance at the plate over the weekend, where she played as designated player for the Racers. She recorded her first career extra-base hit with a double that drove in two runs and added another run batted in with a sacrifice fly. Over the weekend series, she posted a .375 batting average and tallied three RBI.

The Racers swept Illinois State during their weekend games and split a mid-week doubleheader against Southern Illinois. These results moved Murray State to third place in conference standings.

For the season, Towns has maintained a .171 batting average with six hits, one double, and six RBI as a freshman.
