Pikeville issued the following announcement on Dec. 4
The University of Pikeville believes in building strong and lasting relationships with its alumni community to forge a successful alma mater.
Many UPIKE alumni, colleagues and parents of students recently gathered together in Louisville, Ky., to reconnect with friends, old and new, and enjoy a special evening at the popular downtown Italian restaurant, Vincenzo’s.
Among others, guests visited with President Burton J. Webb, UPIKE Chancellor and former Kentucky Governor Paul E. Patton, Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Relations David Hutchens, UPIKE Board of Trustee members Bill Malone and Marcy Cassady, Former UPIKE President Hal Smith, Kentucky Women in Agriculture (KWIA) Board members and Future Farmers of America (FFA) high school students from Wayne County, Ky.
Not only do alumni and friends enjoy hearing from UPIKE’s leadership about the growth of the university and its continued spirit of service, but they also appreciate reuniting at these events.
KWIA board member, Rhonella Chaffin, was grateful to have the opportunity to get together with UPIKE officials and friends of the university during the event.
“The young FFA members were amazed that Chancellor Patton took time to speak with each of them individually and enjoyed the opportunity to attend,” said Chaffin. “I look forward to working with UPIKE for our 21st KWIA conference in 2020 in Pikeville.”
