Founded in 1988, the Eastern Kentucky University Honors program is a school outreach program that makes the best academic resources available to a limited group of motivated students. The program offers coursework to approximately 400 students, who are selected by competitive effort. These courses replace part or all of the student’s regular education requirements. Classes are team taught and have a heavy emphasis on research. Students in the program have consistently rated high in regional and national honor conferences. The program is headquartered at the Richmond, Ky. campus, where honors students live together in Sullivan Hall.
