Northern Kentucky University Norse baseball defeated Oakland University 10-0 on Apr. 25, marking their second consecutive run-rule victory in the series at Bill Aker Baseball Complex in Highland Heights, Kentucky.

The win is significant as it follows a commanding 30-9 victory the previous day and improves Northern Kentucky’s record to 19-22 overall and 8-9 in Horizon League play. Oakland falls to 10-28 overall and 5-12 in conference games.

Marcus Harrison started the scoring with a three-run home run in the first inning, one of four home runs hit by Northern Kentucky during the game. Ethan Thomas, Jake Paulick, and Landon Springmeyer also contributed home runs as the Norse secured a comfortable lead over Oakland.

Starting pitcher EJ Miramontes pitched four scoreless innings for Northern Kentucky, allowing only one hit and one walk while earning his third win of the season. Elijah Green relieved Miramontes and threw three scoreless innings with two strikeouts to earn his first career save. Offensively, Paulick reached base all four times he batted, going two-for-two with a home run and double along with two walks. Harrison finished one-for-two with two walks, a home run, three runs batted in (RBI), and scored twice.

Ethan Thomas went two-for-four at bat including a solo homerun while Springmeyer added another homerun along with drawing two walks. Josh Williams contributed by finishing two-for-four with an RBI double and scoring once himself.
