Murray State men’s basketball announced on Apr. 25 the signing of French international Jonas Boulefaa for the upcoming season.
The addition of Boulefaa is expected to strengthen the team’s roster as they prepare for the next college basketball season. The move brings in a player with both European club and international experience, potentially adding depth and versatility to Murray State’s lineup.
Boulefaa, a 6-foot-10 power forward, considered offers from Illinois, Louisville, and Fresno State before choosing to play for Blois in France Élite 2 this year. In his lone season with Blois, he averaged 6.9 points and 3.3 rebounds over 33 games. Prior to that, he spent four seasons with Pôle France where he posted averages of 8.9 points and 3.8 assists across 75 appearances.
Head coach Ryan Miller said, “Jonas is an extremely talented forward who will give us a lot on the court. He’s a talented shot-maker with strong passing instincts and is a solid rebounder. He competes at a high-level every time he steps on the floor, and we are excited to welcome him to Murray State.”
On the international stage, Boulefaa represented France at several youth competitions including the recent 2025 FIBA U18 EuroBasket where he contributed 12 points and 4.6 rebounds per game over seven appearances. He also played in the FIBA U17 World Cup in 2024 as well as both editions of the FIBA U16 European Championships in previous years.
Across all international tournaments for France’s youth teams, Boulefaa has averaged nearly ten points along with close to five rebounds per contest over a total of twenty-eight games played.
He joins Roman Domon and Mathis Courbon as one of three French players set to be part of Murray State’s roster for the upcoming season.
