Murray State men’s basketball announced on Apr. 18 the signing of Brigham Rogers, an experienced forward with Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) experience, as he joins the Racers as a rising senior.
The addition of Rogers is seen as important for Murray State because of his proven track record in the MVC and his potential to provide leadership and efficiency on both ends of the court.
Rogers played in 99 games over three seasons with the Belmont Bruins, starting in more than half those appearances. He was a key player for last season’s MVC regular season championship team. “Brigham is one of the most efficient offensive players in the country and led the Valley in shooting percentage,” head coach Ryan Miller said. “He is a proven winner in our league and will provide valuable leadership experience in our locker room. We are ecstatic to welcome Brigham to the Racer Family.”
Last year, Rogers averaged 7.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and recorded 18 blocks while playing just over 18 minutes per game. His performance helped Belmont secure both their overall wins total at 26 and their top seed at Arch Madness after clinching the regular season title.
Rogers led The Valley with a field goal percentage of 72.5 percent last season and ranked among national leaders in offensive efficiency according to Synergy data. He was named to the MVC All-Bench Team alongside Roman Domon.
Off court, Rogers has been recognized for his academic achievements as a three-time member of the MVC Honor Roll, selection to this year’s MVC All-Scholar Team, and recipient of CSC Academic All-District honors during the previous academic year.
