Murray State baseball lost its fourth consecutive game on May 6 with a 5-1 defeat to UT Martin at Johnny Reagan Field. The result ties the Racers’ longest losing streak of the 2026 season.

The matchup between Murray State and UT Martin remained scoreless until the eighth inning, when the Skyhawks scored three runs to take control of the game. Murray State answered in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI single from Connor Chisolm, but it was their only run of the contest.

UT Martin added two more runs in the ninth inning, securing a 5-1 victory. Ethan Lyke started for Murray State and pitched four scoreless innings, recording three strikeouts without issuing a walk. Derek Lebron took the loss despite allowing just one run on one hit while striking out four batters.

Offensively, Murray State managed only four hits during the game. Kristofer Hokenson and Colby Ott each hit a double, while Chisolm and Conner Cunningham contributed singles. Chisolm’s single accounted for all of Murray State’s scoring.

Looking ahead, Murray State will host Indiana State at Johnny Reagan Field this weekend. Both teams currently have 12-6 records in Missouri Valley Conference play and are tied for first place in The Valley.
