The Morehead State women’s golf team will compete in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Championship starting Sunday, April 18, at the Dalton Golf and Country Club in Dalton, Georgia. The tournament will feature nine league teams playing 18 holes each day through Tuesday on the par-72, 6,100-yard course.

This event is significant as Morehead State aims to defend its title after leading from start to finish last spring and claiming its third OVC Tournament victory in program history. The Eagles are seeking back-to-back championships and their third title in four seasons.

Last season, Morehead State defeated Little Rock by a margin of 29 strokes, which was recorded as the third largest victory margin ever for a championship event in league history. Both teams are expected to be top contenders again this year as Little Rock participates in its final OVC season. According to current statistics, Morehead State leads the conference with a season average score of 299.1. Little Rock follows closely at 302.9, while Tennessee Tech holds third place with an average of 304.3.

On an individual level, Tuva Marie Isebakke—the reigning OVC Player of the Year—ranks first among conference players with a scoring average of 74.5. Teammates Amelia Rae Greenlee and Isabella Wiley hold second and third positions with averages of 75.0 and 75.4 respectively; Claudia Hofmeister ranks seventh at 76.4.

Teams competing alongside Morehead State include Bryant University, Eastern Illinois University, Little Rock University, Lindenwood University, Southern Indiana University, Tennessee State University, Tennessee Tech University and Western Illinois University.

The Eagles’ lineup for this tournament features Amelia Rae Greenlee, Tuva Marie Isebakke, Claudia Hofmeister, Isabella Wiley and Morgan Kennedy.
