Morehead State women’s golf finished in second place at the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, according to an April 21 announcement. The tournament took place in Dalton, Georgia, where nine schools competed.

The result is significant for Morehead State as the team posted the best single-round score of all participating schools on the final day. Despite a strong finish, earlier rounds proved challenging and prevented them from overtaking Little Rock for first place.

Entering the last round in third position, Morehead State managed to cut nine strokes from its deficit behind Little Rock. The Eagles moved ahead of Tennessee Tech to secure second place with a combined team score of 322-319-294–935. Notably, they were the only team to record a sub-300 round during the three-day event. Little Rock and Morehead State have alternated conference titles over the past four seasons; this year marks Little Rock’s final season in the conference.

The Eagles had to adjust their lineup after senior Amelia Rae Greenlee withdrew due to injury during the first round. Meri Illamola substituted in for Greenlee and played as Morehead State’s fifth competitor for two rounds.

Individually, junior Isabella Wiley achieved third place with scores of 78-81-73–232. Graduate student Claudia Hofmeister tied for fifth—her first career top-five finish—with scores of 80-80-73–233. Senior Tuva Marie Isebakke placed eighth (82-80-73–235), while freshman Morgan Kennedy finished twelfth (82-81-75–238). Illamola led Morehead State on day two but did not officially place due to her substitute status.

This tournament marked the end of competition for head coach Stephanie Barker’s 2025–26 squad.
