Morehead State Beach Volleyball is set to host its only home matches of the 2026 season during the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) weekend, according to an April 16 announcement. The Eagles will welcome five other OVC beach volleyball teams at Giovanni’s Breadstick Beach, with seeding for next week’s league tournament in Martin, Tennessee at stake.

The event holds importance as it determines tournament positions for the participating teams. Morehead State will play Eastern Illinois at 2 p.m. and UT Martin at 6 p.m. on Friday, followed by matches against Lindenwood at 10 a.m. and Chattanooga at 6 p.m. on Saturday. All Morehead State matches are scheduled to air live on ESPN+.

Currently, Morehead State is tied with UT Martin in the conference standings with a record of three wins and three losses, while holding an overall record of seven wins and fourteen losses this season. Chattanooga leads the conference undefeated at six wins and no losses and has maintained a streak of twenty-one consecutive league victories since 2024. Lindenwood stands at five wins and one loss; Eastern Illinois has one win and five losses; Tennessee Tech remains winless after six matches but will not face Morehead State this weekend.

Among individual performances, senior Shea Hefner leads Morehead State with a personal record of thirteen wins and eight losses, having played all her matches in the No. 2 spot this year. Senior M.E. Hargan follows closely behind with twelve wins and nine losses, while junior Bella Marita has also contributed nine victories so far this season.

At their previous OVC weekend appearance in Chattanooga, Morehead State defeated Eastern Illinois four sets to one but lost their other three matchups by scores of either five-nil or four-one.

The upcoming home event offers both players and fans an opportunity to witness key matchups that could shape final seeding for the league tournament.
