The Morehead State Men’s Golf Team will travel to West Lafayette, Indiana, to compete in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Tournament from April 26 to April 29.

The tournament is important as it gives the Eagles a chance to secure the OVC title after a season marked by several record-breaking performances and individual achievements. The event begins with stroke play involving all eleven teams, with the top four advancing to match play on the final day.

During this season, Morehead State set a new school record at the Derek Dolenc Invitational for lowest team score in a 54-hole tournament and best score relative to par. Seamus Bogan led individual efforts by winning first place at the Jackrabbit Invitational, shooting twelve under par—the second-best performance for Morehead State in fifteen years. The Eagles also won two tournaments: The Keene Trace Collegiate and The Carpenter-Chaney Classic.

This year’s OVC Championship will be held at Ackerman-Allen Course at Purdue University’s Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex for the first time. Head Coach Matthew Martin said, “All year we are building for this event. We look forward to a fun week of challenging competition. We have an idea of what to expect from the course, but the practice round will be valuable since everyone is seeing it for the first time.”

Notable achievements include Bogan’s four consecutive top-10 finishes and his recognition as OVC Golfer of the Month following strong showings at both Compadres Collegiate and The Savannah Intercollegiate. Bogan leads his team with an average score of 72.81 this season and has received multiple conference honors alongside teammate Remy Stalcup.

The Eagles’ lineup features Seamus Bogan, Logan McCormick, Gavin Augenstein, Logan Liles, Remy Stalcup, and Mitchell Gastright as substitute. As they prepare for their championship run on unfamiliar turf against ten other schools, observers will watch whether Morehead State can add another milestone victory to its standout season.
