The Morehead State Eagles softball team lost 6-0 to the Eastern Kentucky Colonels on Apr. 18, as junior Victoria Byrum and senior Tayteum Vigansky combined for a shutout in Richmond, Kentucky.

The game was marked by strong pitching from the Colonels, with Byrum throwing five scoreless innings. Freshman Allicen Harris started for Morehead State and took the loss, bringing her record to 0-13. Senior Maddy Christopher led the Eagles at the plate, going two-for-four.

Morehead State struggled offensively throughout the game and was unable to capitalize with runners in scoring position, finishing zero-for-five in those situations. The closest opportunity came in the fifth inning when freshman Kylie Mann reached third base with one out but did not score.

According to game notes, Morehead State pitchers faced a total of 32 batters from Eastern Kentucky, allowing two ground balls and eleven fly balls while recording two strikeouts. Offensively for Eastern Kentucky, junior Kennedy Drafton had a standout performance by going three-for-three with a double and two runs batted in.

This result leaves Morehead State with an overall record of six wins and twenty-eight losses this season.
