Louisville women’s golf finishes 15th at ACC Championships

The Louisville women’s golf team finished in 15th place after the stroke play portion of the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships on Apr. 17 at Porters Neck Country Club in Wilmington, North Carolina. The Cardinals closed out the tournament with their best team round of the week, posting an even-par score of 288 and finishing at 21-over-par 885 for the championships.

This result concludes Louisville’s participation in stroke play for this year’s conference event. The team’s performance was highlighted by individual improvements and strong rounds from several players.

Senior Thienna Huynh led Louisville, tying for 35th overall with a total score of two-over-par 218. In her final round on Friday, Huynh shot a two-under-par 70 that included seven birdies—the lowest single-round score by any Louisville player during this championship.

Millie Cottrell and Bailey Burkett each recorded even-par rounds of 72 to finish their tournaments. Cottrell posted four birdies and secured her second consecutive even-par round, ending tied for 53rd at six-over-par (222). Burkett achieved her best round of the week with three birdies and finished tied for 58th at seven-over-par (223).

Veronika Exposito also completed her third straight round of two-over-par (74), tallying one birdie on Friday to tie with Cottrell at six-over-par (222) for a share of the 53rd position overall. Emree Cameron rounded out scoring for Louisville, carding her best round—a two-over-par (74) with two birdies—to finish in 72nd place at fifteen-over par.

The results mark the end of stroke play competition for Louisville women’s golf this season as they look ahead to future events.
