The University of Louisville track and field teams completed their participation in the Jim Green Invitational on May 2, concluding two days of competition in Lexington, Kentucky.
The event featured notable performances from several Cardinals athletes. Ty McPhail secured a first-place finish in the men’s pole vault by clearing a height of 5.21 meters (17-1). In the women’s shot put, Kaia Tupu-South finished second with a throw of 17.35 meters (56-11.25), marking her third time surpassing the 17-meter mark during this outdoor season.
Heidi Meade achieved a personal-best time of 16:49.25 to place second in the women’s 5000-meter run, closely followed by Haley Meade who finished third at 16:49.38. The women’s 4×400-meter relay team—composed of Breanna Braham, McKenzie Bell, Zylah Sturdivant, and Jalasia Lewis—secured second place with a season-best time of 3:40.30, which stands as the third-fastest performance in program history.
On the men’s side, Terence Jackson, Ryan Farrell, Ethan Brouw, and Brendan Ruggles combined for a season-best time of 3:13.34 in the men’s 4×400-meter relay to earn third place.
Looking ahead, Louisville will conclude its regular season at the Duke Twilight meet in Durham, North Carolina. Both men’s and women’s teams are scheduled to compete in the 5000-meter events starting at 9:40 p.m., as they prepare for postseason competition.
