The University of Louisville softball team made its debut at No. 25 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll, according to an announcement on April 21.

This marks the first time since 2016 that Louisville has appeared in this national ranking. The recognition highlights the team’s performance as they near the end of their regular season.

In addition to their new position in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll, Louisville is ranked No. 22 by Softball America and holds the No. 25 spot in the D1Softball poll. The Cardinals are also receiving votes in this week’s National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) poll.

The Cardinals currently hold a record of 38-9 overall and are 13-5 within Atlantic Coast Conference play. Their recent success includes sweeping Pittsburgh with three consecutive run rule victories. Looking ahead, Louisville will host Kentucky for the second installment of the Battle of the Bluegrass on Wednesday, April 22 at 6 p.m., followed by a home series against Syracuse where four seniors will be honored during Senior Day.
