A Louisville man has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for methamphetamine-related offenses. Antonio O’Neal, 40, admitted to conspiring to distribute and distributing over 50 grams of methamphetamine between January 2021 and August 2023. He was also held responsible for distributing a total of 960 grams of methamphetamine through law enforcement-controlled purchases during several dates in April and May 2023.
The sentence, handed down on August 21, includes five years of supervised release following his prison term. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Kentucky, there is no parole in the federal system.
U.S. Attorney Kyle G. Bumgarner stated: “This conviction is a part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime. Operation Take Back America streamlines efforts and resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).”
The case was investigated by the FBI Louisville Field Office and Louisville Metro Police Department. Assistant United States Attorneys Joshua Porter and Frank Dahl III prosecuted with assistance from paralegal Adela Alic.
