Louisville Cardinals women’s volleyball team defeats Kentucky in spring season finale

The University of Louisville women’s volleyball team defeated Kentucky 3-1 in their final spring match on April 17 at Historic Memorial Coliseum.

The match concluded the spring season for both teams. Louisville’s victory came with set scores of 25-15, 19-25, 25-10, and 25-16.

Redshirt freshman Chloe Meester led the Cardinals with eight kills, a .500 hitting percentage, seven aces, and a block. Chloe Chicoine also contributed eight kills and had a team-high fourteen digs along with three blocks. Kalyssa Blackshear added eight kills and five blocks. Setter Nayelis Cabello recorded twenty assists, one ace, four blocks, and three kills.

Kentucky finished the match with a .148 hitting percentage as well as forty digs and six blocks. Brooklyn Deleye led the Wildcats with thirteen kills but was held to a .071 hitting percentage. Morgan Gaerte provided eleven kills and two blocks while setter Kassie O’Brien tallied thirty-six assists and ten digs. Libero Molly Tuozzo had fourteen digs and four assists.

This contest marks the conclusion of the spring season for both programs.
