Kentucky Transportation Secretary Jim Gray has issued an official order to temporarily waive certain restrictions on commercial motor carriers. This decision is aimed at facilitating emergency relief efforts in response to anticipated torrential rains and flooding.

The order, effective from February 14, 2025, for a duration of 14 days, suspends specific regulations for vehicles involved in debris removal, power restoration, and the supply of gasoline, propane, and diesel fuels to affected areas. “Every second counts in an emergency, and this official order gives us the ability to provide for those in need without delay,” Secretary Gray said.

Under this directive, commercial drivers transporting approved relief supplies are exempted from maximum driving times and weigh station requirements. However, they must adhere to safety protocols and carry a copy of the order in their truck cab while operating under its authority.

For further details, the official order can be accessed online.
