Kentucky STUNT falls to top-ranked California Baptist at Division I College Nationals

The Kentucky STUNT team lost to top-ranked California Baptist on April 25 in the Division I College STUNT Nationals held at Allen Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

This result ended Kentucky’s school-record winning streak at 21 games. The team now holds a season record of 30 wins and three losses.

During the first quarter, which featured partner stunts, California Baptist scored seven points while Kentucky earned four. In the second quarter, pyramids and tosses, the Lancers again outscored Kentucky by earning seven points compared to four for the Wildcats. At halftime, California Baptist led with a score of 14-8.

In the third quarter focused on jumps and tumbling, California Baptist added six points as Kentucky scored five. The final period saw both teams compete in team routine; here, the Lancers claimed seven more points while Kentucky finished with five.

Kentucky is scheduled to play again tomorrow against Cal Poly at 12:15 p.m. Eastern Time. If victorious, the Wildcats would have another opportunity to face California Baptist in the national championship game.
