Kentucky Proud hosted its second annual Retail Readiness Workshop in Lexington, bringing together Kentucky producers for a day focused on growing their presence in the retail market, according to a recent announcement.

In partnership with KCARD and the University of Kentucky MarketReady program, attendees heard from retailers, industry partners, and fellow producers. Participants took part in hands-on marketing workshops and received product feedback from buyers and design professionals. The event aimed to provide participants with the foundation for a personalized marketing plan and new connections to help move their products into larger retail markets.

The Kentucky Department of Agriculture operates as a state agency within Kentucky’s executive branch, according to the official website. The department aims to enhance Kentucky’s agricultural economy through strategic partnerships and planning. It provides resources and programs across all counties in Kentucky.

Additionally, the department obtains funding through grants for county fairs and agricultural projects. It uses facilities in Frankfort for administrative and operational functions. The department also celebrates agricultural education and recognizes contributions during designated months, according to the official website.

More information about the workshop can be found at the organization’s website.
