Kentucky was selected on Apr. 27 for its 33rd appearance in the NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship, marking the program’s tenth consecutive tournament bid. The Wildcats will compete in the Columbus Regional from May 1-2 at the Auer Tennis Complex, located on the campus of The Ohio State University.
The team is set to face California in the First Round on Friday, May 1 at 10 a.m. Eastern Time. In another opening round match, host and No. 3 national seed Ohio State will play Buffalo at 1 p.m., with winners advancing to a Second Round contest scheduled for Saturday, May 2. The regional champion will move on to Super Regionals, which are set to take place at campus sites on either May 8 or May 9.
Kentucky has qualified for every NCAA Tournament since 2016 and achieved three straight quarterfinal appearances from 2022 through 2024. The team’s best finish came as national runner-up in the year 2022. This marks Kentucky’s third time starting NCAA Tournament play in Columbus; previous appearances there ended with exits in the First Round (2016) and Second Round (2018).
The Wildcats enter this year’s tournament holding a record of seventeen wins and thirteen losses overall, including five wins against nine losses within Southeastern Conference play. During the regular season, Kentucky played sixteen matches against top twenty-five opponents and recorded six victories among them. Notable wins included matches against Michigan State—Big Ten Regular Season and Tournament Champions—as well as over No.9 national seed Oklahoma and No.12 national seed Georgia.
