The Kentucky men’s golf team will begin postseason play at the Southeastern Conference Championship starting Wednesday, Apr. 21, at Sea Island Golf Club’s Seaside Course.
The championship is significant as it marks an opportunity for Kentucky to compete against some of the top-ranked teams in the nation and potentially secure a spot in NCAA regionals for the first time since 2022.
All 16 conference teams will participate in three rounds of stroke play from Wednesday through Friday. The top eight teams after stroke play will advance to match play, with quarterfinals and semifinals scheduled for Saturday and the championship match set for Sunday morning. Live scoring will be available on Scoreboard Powered by Clippd, with Saturday’s semifinals streamed on SEC Network+ and Sunday’s final broadcast live on SEC Network.
This year’s field includes eleven schools ranked among the top 25 nationally: Auburn (No. 1), Texas (No. 3), Florida (No. 4), Arkansas (No. 5), LSU (No. 8), Vanderbilt (No. 11), Ole Miss (No. 12), Tennessee (No. 14), Oklahoma (No. 16), Alabama (No.17) and Georgia (No.25). Kentucky enters ranked No.54 after winning the Bluegrass Collegiate Invitational this spring—its second victory of the season—with Cole Stockard sharing medalist honors, Jack Schoenberger finishing tied fourth, and Cameron Phillips tying for fifth individually.
The Wildcats’ lineup consists of Schoenberger, Stockard, Jacob Lang, Jacob Settles and Phillips; Gavin Clutts travels as substitute player. Four members—Schoenberger, Settles, Lang and Clutts—competed in last year’s conference championship while freshmen Stockard and Phillips make their event debut this week.
Kentucky is paired with South Carolina, Mississippi State and Missouri during round one with tee times from 9:15 to10:15 a.m., beginning on hole ten.
The Wildcats are aiming to reach match play at the SEC Championship for the first time since2019.
