Zoom Diallo, who played two seasons at Washington, has signed with the Kentucky men’s basketball program, the team announced on Apr. 20.
Diallo started in most games during his sophomore year at Washington and averaged 15.7 points and 4.5 assists per game while shooting nearly 49% from the field. He scored double figures in 23 games, including a career-high of 26 points against Southern California.
The guard also recorded three double-doubles last season, highlighted by a performance of 22 points and 11 assists in an overtime win over Southern Cal during the Big Ten Tournament. He posted a career-best of 12 assists and added another double-double with ten assists at Illinois.
Against ranked opponents and NCAA Tournament teams in the past season, Diallo maintained strong numbers, averaging over sixteen points and six assists per game while playing significant minutes. His ability to score inside was evident as he shot more than fifty-two percent from inside the arc and made over eighty-two percent of his free throws for the season.
As a freshman, Diallo appeared in all games for Washington with solid contributions both as a starter and off the bench. Before college, he was recognized as one of the top recruits out of Tacoma Curtis Senior High School where he led his team to consecutive state championships.
