The University of Kentucky announced on April 16 that the annual Kentucky Football Spring Game, presented by Kentucky Farm Bureau, will take place on Saturday, April 18 inside Kroger Field. The event marks the debut of new head coach Will Stein and offers fans their first look at the 2026 team. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. Eastern Time.
The Spring Game serves as an opportunity for supporters to observe the team’s progress ahead of the upcoming season and to welcome Coach Stein in his first public appearance leading the Wildcats. Due to ongoing construction on the north side of Kroger Field, seating capacity has been reduced and general admission tickets are required despite being free. Fans are encouraged to claim tickets early, as availability may be limited on game day.
Parking around Kroger Field will be available at no cost on a first-come, first-served basis; however, attendees are asked to avoid parking in the purple lot because it is reserved for those attending a UK Baseball game later that afternoon. Gates and ticket offices open at 10 a.m., with team warmups beginning at 10:30 a.m.
The game format divides players into blue (offense) and white (defense) teams. The full squad will enter together accompanied by the Wildcat Marching Band playing “On, On, U of K.” The contest consists of four quarters lasting fifteen minutes each; coaches may opt for a running clock in the second half. Scoring rules differ from standard games—both offense and defense can earn points through various plays such as touchdowns or turnovers.
A clear bag policy remains in effect: each fan may bring one large clear bag or small clutch meeting specified size requirements; backpacks and drawstring bags are not permitted regardless of material.
For those interested in season tickets for Kentucky Football’s upcoming season, deposits are now being accepted with staff available onsite during Saturday’s event to answer questions. Additionally, BBN United members can collect exclusive merchandise near Gate 9 while supplies last.
