Kentucky Department of Agriculture announces 2026 poster and essay contest for students

The Kentucky Department of Agriculture has invited K–12 students to participate in the 2026 Poster & Essay Contest. Students may submit a hand-drawn poster, a 500-word essay, or a digital entry inspired by the theme “Bluegrass Roots, Agriculture Strong.” Selected winners will receive cash prizes and have their work featured in the Commissioner’s Office, at the 2026 Kentucky State Fair, and on the department’s website. Entries must be postmarked by Friday, March 20, 2026.

The contest aims to encourage creativity among students while highlighting the importance of agriculture in Kentucky. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts by the department to promote and enhance the state’s agricultural sector through marketing and development programs.
