A Cincinnati man received over ten years in prison after admitting to possessing a firearm as a convicted felon during a traffic stop in Covington. Law enforcement found marijuana along with weapons during their search. Federal officials announced that upon release from prison he will face three years’ supervision.
Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Jonathan Shell has named student winners of this year’s statewide poster and essay contest focused on celebrating local agriculture. Winners will receive awards at an upcoming ceremony before their work is displayed at the state fair.
The Kentucky Department of Agriculture has opened applications for its 2026 Farm to Fork program supporting local food initiatives that benefit charities across the state. Eligible organizations can apply for grants covering up to half their event costs using locally grown foods.
