WKU track and field reported on Apr. 25 that the team secured three podium finishes during the LSU Alumni Gold event held Saturday at Bernie Moore Track Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The announcement highlights strong performances by Natalie Papes, who took second place in the women’s pole vault, and Jackson Gray and Sam Crenshaw, who finished second and third respectively in the men’s pole vault. According to WKU, Papes cleared a height of 3.96 meters to secure her spot on the podium. Both Gray and Crenshaw achieved a final mark of 5.10 meters; placement was determined by comparing each athlete’s second-best jump.

Additional results from the competition include Sterling Weldon finishing fifth in the men’s long jump with a mark of 7.25 meters, while Jayla Gilbert placed eighth in women’s shot put with a distance of 14.21 meters. Kameron Horton finished eleventh in a competitive men’s 200-meter field with a time of 20.78 seconds, closely followed by Brunel Desinor in twelfth place at 20.87 seconds.

Full results from the LSU Alumni Gold are available through WKU’s athletics channels for those seeking more detailed information about individual performances.

Looking ahead, WKU will travel to Nashville for the Outdoor Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt beginning Friday, May 1. The team indicated that additional details about this upcoming meet will be provided later in the week.
