A federal jury in London, Kentucky, found Brandon Farley, 42, of Harlan, guilty on two counts of producing child pornography. The verdict followed a two-day trial and just 45 minutes of jury deliberation.

Testimony presented at trial showed that Farley sexually abused a minor under his care and took photographs documenting the abuse.

Paul McCaffrey, Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky; Olivia Olson, Special Agent in Charge for the FBI Louisville Field Division; and Col. Phillip J. Burnett, Jr., Commissioner of the Kentucky State Police announced the conviction.

The case was investigated by both the FBI and the Kentucky State Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Blankenship is prosecuting the case.

Farley’s sentencing is scheduled for January 7, 2026. He faces up to 60 years in prison if given the maximum sentence. The final sentence will be determined according to federal statutes and U.S. Sentencing Guidelines.

The prosecution was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide. The project brings together federal, state, and local agencies to find and prosecute those who exploit children online and to identify victims.
