Union, Kentucky – H. Dawson Lancaster, aged 93, passed away on July 30, 2025, at his residence in Union, surrounded by his family. Dawson was born on July 23, 1932, in Burlington, Kentucky, to the late Chester Lee and Gertrude Lee Lancaster. Throughout his life, Dawson dedicated himself to service in various roles, leaving behind a legacy of devotion and honor.

Dawson served his country courageously during the Korean War as part of the U.S. Army Company D 67th Tank Division. A lifelong member of the Burlington Baptist Church, Dawson’s faith guided his life, and he actively participated in its various ministries, serving as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and committee member.

After dedicating 39 years of service to Cincinnati Bell as a Service Technician, Dawson’s commitment to excellence and hard work was evident to all who knew him. Additionally, he was an active member of the Burlington/Union F & AM Masonic Lodge, where he fostered lasting friendships and contributed to his community.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean Kleintank Lancaster, his parents, and several siblings, Dawson is survived by his sons, Ellwood, Douglas, and Steven Lancaster; his grandchildren, Kayla and Jesse Lancaster; and great-grandchildren, Kinsley Rae and Crue Rowan Lancaster.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:45 am at the Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home in Hebron, with Masonic Rites at 11:45 am followed by funeral services at 12:00 Noon. Interment with military honors will take place at Burlington Cemetery in Burlington, Kentucky.

In remembrance of Dawson’s life, memorial contributions are suggested to be made to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, or a favorite charity of the donor’s choice.
