Five University of Kentucky football players have been selected for the 13th Annual Collegiate All-Commonwealth Team, according to a May 1 announcement from the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame. The honorees are Henry Boyer, Tavion Gadson, Mi’Quise Grace-Humphrey, Terhyon Nichols and Willie Rodriguez.
The Collegiate All-Commonwealth Team is a preseason award that recognizes outstanding football players from colleges and universities across Kentucky. The selection highlights athletes who show leadership both on the field and in the classroom.
Players were nominated by their head coaches for demonstrating qualities that reflect potential as future leaders beyond athletics. According to the release, “The purpose of the award is to promote college football in Kentucky and to honor players whose leadership on the field and in the classroom reflects their potential as future leaders beyond the game.”
Henry Boyer is a senior tight end who transferred from Illinois last fall. He played all 12 games for Kentucky last season, making one start and recording five catches for 62 yards.
Tavion Gadson returned from injury last season as a junior defensive lineman. He appeared in 11 games with his first career start, totaling 28 tackles and tying for second most sacks on the team with 2.5.
Mi’Quise Grace-Humphrey joined Kentucky last fall from South Dakota as a senior defensive lineman. He started every game and led his position group with 31 tackles while also tying team highs in tackles for loss (seven) and sacks (3.5).
Terhyon Nichols is a junior defensive back who played seven games before missing time due to injury but still led his team with five pass breakups.
Willie Rodriguez started seven out of twelve games at tight end last season as a junior, compiling 23 catches for 310 yards and scoring one touchdown.
The recognition underscores each player’s contributions during recent seasons while highlighting their roles as student-athletes committed to excellence.
