The Eastern Kentucky University women’s basketball team announced on May 4 the addition of guard Kirsten Lewis-Williams from the transfer portal for the 2026-27 season.
Lewis-Williams, who stands at 5-foot-10, joins EKU after playing last season at the University of South Florida. She was previously named Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year during her time at the University at Buffalo. With this move, she becomes EKU’s first portal addition this offseason and brings their roster to eight players for next year.
“Kirsten fits our program and who we are, she’s tough, experienced and competitive,” said head coach Greg Todd. “Adding to a core that already knows how to win gives us another level of depth and flexibility on both ends of the floor. We expect her to make a significant impact as we continue to compete for conference championships.”
Last season with South Florida, Lewis-Williams averaged 2.7 points and 1.6 rebounds per game while making eight starts in thirty appearances against opponents including Connecticut, Vanderbilt, and South Carolina. She recorded double figures twice in scoring during the season.
Prior to her stint at South Florida, she played two seasons at Buffalo where she earned Second Team All-MAC honors in addition to being named Freshman of the Year in 2024 and helped lead her team to a WNIT championship title by scoring eighteen points in the final game against Troy.
Lewis-Williams is scheduled to arrive on campus this summer ahead of offseason workouts.
