Several Eastern Kentucky University softball players received All-Atlantic Sun Conference recognition on May 5, ahead of their first-round tournament game against North Florida.

The awards highlight the achievements of both individual athletes and the team’s academic efforts this season. Kennedy Drafton and Jaelin Haynes were named to the All-ASUN Second Team, while Bayle Hunnicutt was selected for the All-ASUN Freshman Team. Additionally, Reese Knox, Emily Mariscal, Tayteum Vigansky, Kaitlyn Wallis, and Drafton earned spots on the Academic All-ASUN Team for their combined athletic and academic accomplishments.

Drafton’s selection marks her third career appearance on an All-ASUN team. She previously made the Freshman Team in 2024 and First Team in 2025. This season she played in 51 games with a .318 batting average, a .519 slugging percentage, and a .404 on-base percentage. Drafton led her team with 11 doubles, six home runs, and 34 runs batted in while anchoring second base defensively with over 100 putouts.

Haynes earned her second career ASUN honor after making First Team in 2024. As a senior this year she appeared in 50 games with a .327 batting average and led the team with 52 hits and scored 36 runs. In center field she recorded a .932 fielding percentage across numerous plays.

Hunnicutt was recognized for her performance as a freshman pitcher by making the conference’s Freshman Team. She appeared in 35 games—23 as starts—and posted an even win-loss record along with more than 110 strikeouts to rank fourth among all ASUN pitchers.

Eastern Kentucky will face North Florida at Jacksonville later today at five o’clock eastern time as they begin their postseason run.
