Eastern Kentucky and Western Kentucky to play non-conference baseball game Tuesday

Eastern Kentucky University and Western Kentucky University will face each other in a non-conference baseball game on April 21 at Earle Combs Stadium in Richmond.

The matchup, presented by Anthem, is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN+. The event will feature $2 Day promotions, with tickets, popcorn, hot dogs, and beer available for $2 each. EKU baseball t-shirts are also set to be given away during the game.

Eastern Kentucky enters the contest with a record of 10-30 overall and a 4-14 mark in the Atlantic Sun Conference after being swept by Central Arkansas over the weekend. Notable performances include Dylan Littlefield’s ranking among conference leaders with 11 home runs and Khaleel Pratt’s position close behind with 10. Brock Blanton has not allowed a run in his last four appearances while striking out six batters across those outings. Kobe Benson has been hitting .462 over his last eleven games with an on-base percentage of .622.

Western Kentucky holds a record of 20-20 overall and is 7-11 in Conference USA following their recent series against Missouri State. Lane Arroyos leads the Hilltoppers offensively in several categories including batting average (.356), doubles (18), walks (30), and RBIs (41). Austin Haller has successfully stolen fourteen bases this season while maintaining a .313 batting average. Pitcher Mick Uebelhor has posted a 2-2 record with a 2.94 earned run average across eleven appearances.

In their all-time series history, Western Kentucky leads Eastern Kentucky by seven games, holding a record of 69-62-2 overall; however, Eastern Kentucky is ahead when playing at home in Richmond with a record of 38-28-1. In their most recent meeting on March 19, Western Kentucky won by a score of 14-8.
