Erlanger, KY – David J. Sheets, 68, of Erlanger, Kentucky, passed away on October 6, 2025, following a brave battle with cancer. Born in Covington, Kentucky, to John and Adelle Sheets, David’s life was a reflection of love, perseverance, and dedication.

David, known as Dave, was a devoted machinist at General Electric Engines for 38 years, a loving husband of 48 years to Kathy Sheets, and a cherished father to his three children. Embracing his role as “Papa,” Dave adored his six grandchildren deeply.

With a passion for music, sports, and laughter, Dave was a vibrant personality who actively supported youth sports, especially softball, coaching both at the Erlanger-Elsmere youth league and St. Henry High School. An enthusiast of Reds, Bengals, and the University of Kentucky, he enjoyed engaging in friendly sports competitions and games with friends and family. Golf, in particular, was a favorite pastime shared with his golf buddies.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother John, David is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, brother, sisters, and extended family members, all of whom he cherished dearly.

A visitation to celebrate David’s life will take place on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, KY, with a Mass of Christian Burial following on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Covington. Interment will be at St. Mary’s cemetery.

Memorial donations in honor of David Sheets are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, the Reds Community Fund, or any youth sporting league.

David J. Sheets will be greatly missed but forever remembered for the enduring love and joy he shared with all who knew him.
