Commissioner Jonathan Shell, along with interns from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA), visited Butler County to attend a Chamber lunch sponsored by the Kentucky Farm Bureau. The group then proceeded to a local soybean farm to observe the challenges and resilience faced by Kentucky producers.
In Barren County, the team toured Jeremy Kinslow’s dairy and Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese. This visit aimed to demonstrate to the interns the diversity within Kentucky agriculture, spanning from row crops to value-added products.
The day concluded at the Barren County Fair. Commissioner Shell took this opportunity to emphasize KDA’s efforts in ride safety, fairgrounds maintenance, and rural investment.
