The City of Fort Thomas announced on Apr. 27 that free compost is still available for residents at Tower Park near the stables. Residents are encouraged to bring their own shovel and bucket to collect the compost for use in spring gardening projects.

This initiative supports local efforts to promote sustainable gardening and waste reduction by repurposing materials from the city’s leaf collection program. The partnership with the Fort Thomas Forest Conservancy has made it possible for residents to access this resource at no cost.

The City of Fort Thomas functions as a municipal government entity, according to the official website. The city is led by an elected mayor and city council under a mayor-council government, as noted on the official website.

Fort Thomas maintains parks and athletic fields for public use, manages recreational facilities, and organizes community gatherings such as events like the Pumpkin Walk and Holiday Walk, according to the official website. The city also focuses on providing fire and police services, maintaining infrastructure, and hosting community events per information provided on its official site.

By offering free compost created through its leaf collection program in partnership with local organizations, Fort Thomas continues its commitment to environmental stewardship while encouraging resident participation in community initiatives.
