A Boone County resident, Osvaldo Pardo, 33, from Florence, Kentucky, has been sentenced to 144 months in federal prison for drug trafficking and firearm offenses. Chief U.S. District Judge David Bunning handed down the sentence after Pardo pleaded guilty to possessing over 500 grams of cocaine with intent to distribute and possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.
Court documents show that in February 2025, law enforcement used a confidential source to make controlled purchases of cocaine from Pardo at a motel in Florence. Authorities later searched his motel room and discovered 807.4 grams of cocaine, $1,440 in cash, nearly three kilograms of marijuana, a pistol, digital scale, and money counter. Pardo admitted ownership of these items and acknowledged having the firearm to support his drug trafficking activities.
Federal sentencing rules require Pardo to serve at least 85 percent of his prison term before being eligible for release. After completing his sentence, he will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for life.
Paul McCaffrey, Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky; Orville O. Greene, Special Agent in Charge of the DEA Detroit Field Division; and Chief Jeff Mallery of the Florence Police Department announced the sentencing jointly.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Florence Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle Winslow prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
