Bellarmine University announced on May 7 that it will confer a total of 836 degrees during its commencement exercises scheduled for May 9. The ceremony, which will take place at Freedom Hall, includes the awarding of 613 undergraduate and 223 graduate degrees.
The event will recognize graduates from the summer and fall terms of 2025 as well as the spring term of 2026. Dr. Aaron Thompson, president of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education, is set to address undergraduate students. Rachel Greenberg, First Lady of Louisville and a Bellarmine alumna, will speak at the graduate ceremony. Both Thompson and Greenberg are expected to receive honorary degrees.
A media release from Bellarmine University said, “As Bellarmine University celebrates its 75th anniversary, commencement offers a moment to reflect on the institution’s legacy of educating students — mind, body, and spirit — for meaningful lives, rewarding careers, and ethical leadership.”
Founded in 1950, Bellarmine is marking its seventy-third commencement this year.
The Archdiocese of Louisville supports Catholic spiritual development through various ministries and provides pastoral care across central Kentucky parishes under the guidance of its Archbishop; it also maintains archives for historical research purposes according to the official website.
