The Bellarmine University softball team lost its last home game of the 2026 season to Eastern Kentucky, with a final score of 6-1 at Knights Field on April 26.

This game marked the end of Bellarmine’s home schedule for the year. The loss leaves the Knights with a record of 12-35 overall and 5-16 in ASUN conference play. Eastern Kentucky improved to a record of 26-21-1 overall and 13-6-1 in conference games.

Eastern Kentucky scored first, bringing in one run during both the first and second innings. Bellarmine responded in their half of the second inning when junior Kendall Gaddie hit a line drive into left center field, allowing a runner from second base to score and narrowing EKU’s lead to 2-1.

However, EKU extended their advantage by scoring two runs each in both the sixth and seventh innings. Senior Jacklyn Zuege recorded a base hit during her last appearance at Knights Field. Fellow senior Addison Kerr drew a walk as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning. On defense, senior Elli Jensen entered the game to secure an important out in the sixth, while senior Madison Davis made several notable plays in left field.

Looking ahead, Bellarmine will conclude its season with three road games against North Alabama from May 1 through May 2.
